Love Story

I think everybody on the planet knows the gist of Love Story, even if they haven’t read/seen it. So before I started I had an inkling of what was in store for me, and for once I can say that I was completely surprised.

Firstly it was way, way shorter than I thought, but more importantly the story itself was nothing like I expected. It was so completely matter of fact, I didn’t shed a single tear. I was anticipating long, sappy, overly descriptive pages, but I was finished within an hour. I didn’t feel quite satisfied somehow, but I think it’s more because I wanted to read something that would make me feel all mushy rather than something being wrong with the book itself.

I would recommend this book to anyone who ever has to ride the bus, it will keep you busy for a couple of journeys and you will get to experience some truly amazing cringeworthy sayings (love means never having to say you’re sorry- that says it all really doesn’t it??).
